Messages will expire without specific notice, but all of the users in the network will be sent an official alert notifying them that their messages will now expire, and will give specific information the message expiration time. Each message has a read receipt where you can find the expiration date.
If a message expires, will I still be able to search for it?
No, the message is removed from your device.
Will attachments expire along with the messages?
No, since attachments can be shared across many different conversations they do not expire like messages. The owner of each file has permission to revoke access to any charged files.
